27th Annual Hometown Holiday Parade

The Forsyth-Monroe Chamber is hosting their 27th Annual Hometown Holiday Parade held at night in downtown Forysth GA.  This year’s parade theme is “A Christmas Miracle on Main Street” and is sponsored by Raymond James. The nighttime parade will have lights, music, a friendly float competition, and a visit from Santa Claus.

The parade is proud to be named a Top 20 Event in the Southeast by the Southeast Tourism Society.

When: Thursday, December 1st

  • Begin: Intersection of Railroad Avenue and E Johnston Street
  • End: E Main Street near Brooklyn Avenue

The parade will circle the Courthouse Square and end at Ingle’s parking lot.

6th Annual Legacy of Lights Ceremony

The 6th Annual Legacy of Lights Ceremony sponsored by the South Warner Robins Chick-fil-A and GMC Warner Robins campus is kicking off for the season with host, Amyre Makupson of WGXA.  The South Warner Robins Chick-fil-A will be illuminated with thousands of lights for the ceremony. The event will have music, refreshments, crafts and pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

There will also be guest appearances from singer-songwriter Colby Dee, recording artist Kevin Ward, Harvest Worship and more! All proceeds and donations during the event will benefit the Houston County Habitat for Humanity. Since 1991, the Houston County Habitat for Humanity has been serving the community by providing 52 quality housing to low-income families.

The Robins Regional Chamber Christmas Parade

You know it is the holiday season in middle Georgia because the Robins Regional Chamber Christmas Parade is here!  Come on out on Saturday, December 3rd at 10:00am and spread some holiday cheer.  The parade will start at Commercial Circle on South Davis Drive and proceed to the intersection of Houston Road and Watson Boulevard.

There will be special guest appearances by this years Grand Marshall, Kelsey Hollis, recording artist Colby Dee, and dancers from the Academy of Dance Expressions Company. With over 150 entries in numerous categories, there are bound to be several crowd favorites again this year with the theme, Reindeer Games.

When: Saturday, December 3rd

7th Annual Lighted Christmas Parade

You know it is the holiday season in middle Georgia because the Robins Regional Chamber Christmas Parade is here! Centerville’s 7th Annual Lighted Christmas Parade, hosted by the Center Park at Centerville is upon us. Come on out on Saturday, December 3rd at 7pm for a family friendly event. The parade will start at Thomson Middle School on Thomson Road and proceed to the Galleria Mall on Watson Boulevard.

Make sure to stop by the Rotary Point Park for hot chocolate and hot cider from the Rotary Club of Centerville GA. The City of Centerville will have boxes available in the lobby of City Hall for unwrapped gifts for the Toys for Tots charity.

Dr. Law’s Leaping Lights

Dr. Kelly Law with the American Chiropractic Specialists  puts on an incredible light show and display called Dr. Law’s Leaping Lights. With over 110K lights, this is one of the Christmas events in Warner Robins GA you will not want to miss!

This event, started in 2010, will run until December 24th and you do NOT need to leave your vehicle to enjoy the show. Tune your car radio to FM 89.9 to watch the lights dance perfectly in-tune to the holiday music.

Nutcracker of Central Georgia

The Nutcracker of Central Georgia has been performed for more than thirty seasons at the Grand Opera House in Macon GA. The performance is a ballet reenactment of the popular story, The Nutcracker and the Mouse King.

The Grand Opera House is a performing arts center for the University of Mercer and a premier historic theatre, reflecting 135 years of Macon GA history.

Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka Musical

Delight in Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka Musical featuring songs from the 1971 film starring Gene Wilder. This musical adaption inspired by Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is sure to be an enchanting musical for the whole family. The musical runs for two acts for 2 hours and 30 minutes. Patrons can enjoy Demitasse Coffee during the intermission.

The musical is at the Macon Little Theatre and directed by Sylvia Haynie and Laura Voss. The Macon Little Theatre has been providing quality dramatic presentations with more than 300 major productions over the past 80 years to the Middle Georgia community.

Historic Macon Foundation’s Cottage Christmas

The Sidney Lanier Cottage in Macon GA is the perfect holiday event to cast away your stress and spend some relaxing free time on Sunday, December 11th.  With free admission and refreshments, yummy baked goods for sale, a Christmas carol performance by The Otis Redding Foundation DREAM Choir, the Cottage Christmas at the Sidney Lanier Cottage is going to be the place to be!

The Sidney Lanier Cottage House Museum is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, designated a Landmark of American Music, and identified as a Landmark of American Poetry. Sidney Lanier was born in the home in 1842 and was well known for both his poetry and musical talents (self taught on 6 instruments). His most famous poetry pieces are “The Marshes of Glynn” and “Song of the Chattahoochee”.

O’ Holy Night: Celebrating 20 Years of Christmas with John Berry Tour

The country singer-songwriter and Grammy Award nominee, John Berry will be performing his, ” O’ Holy Night: Celebrating 20 Years” tour at the Grand Opera House in Macon GA. His 1995 O’ Holy Night album originally launched his annual Christmas tour, and the tour is now in its 17th year.

With 18 of his tunes hitting the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, there will be plenty of great music for old and new fans alike. Many of his albums have gone gold and platinum, earning him many awards from the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country Music.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Georgia

The charitable organization, BBQure Brothers, is hosting a  fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House this Christmas. The BBQure Brothers aim to help families experiencing hardships due to medical expenses.  The organization will be smoking holiday 12-14 lb turkeys, 8-10 lb smoked picnic hams, and smoked Boston Butts for the fundraiser. This holiday season is about giving so what better way than to donate or place an order for the fundraiser, knowing 100% of the proceeds will help a family stay at the Ronald McDonald House while their child gets the medical help they need.
