Things to do in Middle Georgia: The Georgia National Fair (2017)

The arrival of autumn brings cooler temperatures and a change in seasons but it also signifies The Georgia National Fair has arrived!  This year, from October 5th-15th, 2017, Perry Georgia will be the center of activity in middle GA as it hosts the 28th Georgia National Fair.  This 11-day event opens its doors from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., so come out and enjoy all the fair has to offer!

Visitors will be entertained this year with a variety concerts, rides and games, exhibits, family entertainment, nightly fireworks, food, horse shows, livestock, rides, petting zoo, street entertainers, Georgia grown products, and plenty of commercial vendors selling their unique wares.


Prices for The Georgia National Fair

The Georgia National FairAdults pay $10.00 and kids 10 and under get in FREE with a paying adult.  Military and their immediate family members get in FREE on Patriotic Day on October 9th (with military ID cards).  Come out on Oct 8th and the gate admission is only $8.00 for adults.

Seniors pay only $8.00 and groups of 20 or more adults pay $9.00.  Check at the gate for advance pass prices.

Parking is FREE.

Ride Armbands are $20.00 on October 5th, 9th-12th, and $30 on October 15th, and are good for unlimited rides (some restrictions apply).  Come out on Terrific Tuesday (October 10th) and pay only $8.00. Single tickets are $1.25 and sheets cost $12.00 (12 coupons), $24.00 (26 coupons), or $60.00 (65 coupons)

The rides (60+) start up at noon during the week and 10:00am on the weekends.  They run until 10pm each day.


The Georgia National Fair Midday for Seniors

Seniors aged 60+ can take advantage of the midday for seniors special, which provides discounts during non-peak hours on weekdays.

The Georgia National Fair Entertainment

Entertainment at the Georgia National Fair includes concerts, horse and livestock shows, a circus, Hatfields and McCoys high dive show, ShenaniGuns! comedy wild west show, mutton bustin’, nightly fireworks, petting zoo, sea lion shows, pig racing, story tellers, human/animal stunt shows, and plenty of gifted singers and performers.  There is truly something of interest for every family member!


Mutton Bustin’ Details

Let your kids enjoy a rodeo experience! Kids aged 4 to 7 years, weighing less than 60 lbs can try their hand at riding a sheep. The goal is to hang on and last 6 seconds.
