The Georgia Music Hall of Fame
Music lovers and those with an appreciation for history will enjoy a visit to The Georgia Music Hall of Fame. This fabulous facility can be found in downtown Macon GA at 200 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Fantastic displays, interesting artifacts, history, inductee tidbits, and a host of other interesting music items await.
Tune Town is the main exhibit and looks like a downtown street with various settings showcasing a variety of instruments, costumes, and music. Other permanent exhibits include: Backstage Alley, Billy Watson Music Factory, That Great Gretsch Sound, Gospel Chapel, Gretsch Theater, Jazz & Swing Club, Rhythm & Blues Revue, Skillet Licker Café, Vintage Vinyl Record Store, and Coca-Cola Drugstore. Kids get to really have a blast as they explore in the hands-on Music Factory.
Through July 9th 2011, the Cradle of American Music, Works by Steve Penley, is the featured Hall of Fame exhibit.
